Mobile County, Alabama – We negotiated a confidential settlement for the family of a man who was killed when he was hit by an improperly secured vehicle that rolled off a tow truck.

Howell v. J & J Wood, Inc., et al.

U.S. District Court – We reached a confidential settlement amount for the family of a victim who was killed when he struck the defendant’s log truck.  The log truck was stretched across all four lanes of a busy U.S. highway near Phenix City, Alabama on a rainy night.

Lundy, et al. v. DL Peterson Trust, et al.

Cole v. BellSouth

Mobile County, Alabama – Cunningham Bounds obtained an $875,608 jury verdict for a man who suffered significant back injury as a result of being rear-ended by a BellSouth bucket truck.

Whatley v. Merit Trucking Co., Inc.

U.S. District Court – Cunningham Bounds obtained a settlement for the victims of a tractor-trailer underride case where the impaired truck driver violated the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act regulations in abandoning his disabled tractor-trailer on a fog-shrouded highway. In addition, the truck driver's employer had negligently failed to adequately screen the driver prior to employing him.

Meadows v. Hornaday Truck Lines

Baldwin County, Alabama – Our attorney obtained a $4.5 million jury verdict for the family who suffered severe personal injuries as a consequence of a head-on collision with a commercial truck on Interstate 65. The case was appealed and affirmed in full by the Alabama Supreme Court. See, Hornaday Truck Line, Inc. v. Meadows, 847 So. 2d 908 (Ala. 2002).

Moorer v. Boasso America Trucking

Mobile County, Alabama – A confidential settlement was obtained for a husband and wife who received severe injuries after colliding with the trailer of a tractor-trailer rig that was not properly equipped and illuminated as required by Federal Motor Carrier regulations.

Kelley, etc v. Cablesouth, Inc. et al.

Jackson County, Mississippi – Cunningham Bounds obtained confidential settlements for five wrongful death and personal injury claims resulting from an interstate collision involving a multi-vehicle pileup of numerous 18-wheel tractor-trailers, buses, and passenger vehicles on I-10 at the Alabama/Mississippi line.

Anonymous v. Anonymous

Mobile County, Alabama – A confidential settlement was reached for a 17-year-old student who suffered permanent physical injuries, including severe injuries to the brain, when the car in which he was riding was struck by a truck. The truck driver was found to be under the influence of illegal narcotics.
